transformational program designed for businesses to
support the health and wellbeing of its employees by
enabling them to better manage/transend "stress"
in the workplace (and in their lives).
Peter
was a successful small business owner/operator. At
55 he had built a business that his clients could depend
upon. He worked hard and was proud of his accomplishments.
His employees enjoyed their work, and liked working
for him. He was financially successful. He had family
and friends who loved him. However, he was beginning
to have problems with his health. He had developed
diabetes and blood pressure problems. This worried
him. He started having trouble sleeping. One day out
of the blue, he noticed a heaviness in his chest. His
heart was pounding. He began sweating and having trouble
breathing. He became very worried. His thoughts were
racing. He thought he was having a heart attack. He
thought he was going to die. He went to the local emergency
room. It was not a heart attack. It was a stress related
“anxiety/panic attack”.
"Managing
Stress in the Workplace" (and in your Life) is
a 3 hour introductory program developed
by Dr. Keith Comeau M.D./Transformation Strategist
designed to enlighten clients and participants about
the effects of “stress” (including anxiety,
panic and depression) on physical and mental health
and how it directly affects their personal,
professional and business lives. This program will
enable participants to understand the
mechanics of stress, anxiety, panic and depression and
evaluate the level of “stress” in their
lives as well as assess their level
of satisfaction with their personal-professional
lives and their business-organizational lives. Participants
will further learn the steps necessary to prevent
and manage “stress”. They will then experience
the process to effectively transform this
“stress thing” from where it is…to where it could be,
should be and/or needs to be. This program has 3 components:
an Introduction and 2 Workshops. Total time: 3 hours.
This program was designed to be fun, insightful and
life changing.
A. THE
INTRODUCTION is a one hour interactive group presentation
that demonstrates the principles of “stress”
(including anxiety, panic and depression) and
how it affects one’s physical health, mental health,
personal life and business life. Participants will
hear a number of true life stories demonstrating the
impact of “this stress thing” on personal,
family, business and professional lives. They will
also learn how “stress” in other people’s lives (partners,
family, colleagues, employees, etc) will directly affect
their own life. The conclusion of this session outlines
and demonstrates the steps necessary to prevent,
control and manage the “stress
thing” in their lives,… and prevent serious health,
relationship and business problems.
B. THE
FIRST WORK SHOP is a 30 minute interactive process
lead by Dr. Comeau guiding participants in evaluating
the level of satisfaction of their
personal and professional lives and that
of their business and organizational lives. They will
also complete a personal mental health “stress”
test. At the end of this workshop, participants
will have a clear understanding of where they stand
in relation to their “stress level”,…and where they
are personally, professionally and organizationally.
Participants will also learn what to do with this information.
C. THE
SECOND WORKSHOP is a 45 minute workshop that will
lead participants through the steps necessary to “transform”
their “stress”, and “stress related issues”,…. from
where they currently are,…to where they could be,…should
be,…or need to be. Participants will walk away with
an understanding and a method they can use to bring
about the changes they have identified.
ABOUT
DR. KEITH COMEAU, M.D./TRANSFORMATION STRATEGIST
Dr. Comeau
has been a transformation strategist for
over 25 years. He is a family physician and former
social worker living and practicing in Burlington, Ontario.
He has extensive experience and training in individual,
family and group/organizational therapy. He has a corporate
practice “coaching” executives
in “the people aspect of business”. He specializes
in enhancing individual, group and organizational effectiveness,
performance, and success. The basis of his work is
